About Me

My work in linguistics began when I studied at Japan Women's University.
I further studied at the International Christian University in Tokyo, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, Harvard University and MIT, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Now I am professor Emeritus at Japan Women's University.

It is my hope that I would be able to travel to as many countries as possible in the coming years so that I can learn more about different cultures.
